Researchers at Brigham Young University recently asked 33 amateur cyclists to ride 6 miles on electric trek bakfiets with pedal assistance and traditional bicycles.

The average heart rate of people who ride electric trek bakfiets is 145 beats per minute, only 10 times less than that of ordinary people who ride bicycles. It also belongs to what public health professionals call the “high intensity zone”
